Brides and Grooms enjoyed the Eternal Romance theme created with large blooms of white hydrangeas and pearls for their purity and simplistic elegance. The brown organza overlay was adorned with circles of crocheted silver thread, and complimented the silver, satin underlay draped to the floor. Circles were incorporated several times throughout the design because they symbolize no beginning and no end. One brown and silver satin sash accented the brown chiavari chairs and were knot tied, forgoing the traditional bows.

Dave asks Tina to marry him!

The last three months of the year are some of the busiest ones for event professionals because it’s peak wedding season, and networking events and holiday parties are many. October was a particularly busy month for Alce Events as we held our two day open house event with Letz Dance On It. October 21st was open to the event professionals, and the 22nd for friends and family.

October 22nd was particularly special for Tina and David, a lovely couple that visited our office to show their support and visit our showroom. David had a surprise engagement planned for Tina. After speaking to the DJ, and preparing his big surprise, the DJ handed Dave the mic where he got everyone’s attention. With over 120 guests, there were many eyes on the couple.  Dave advised his audience that Tina always gives him  a hard time about not being too romantic, and that he wanted to prove her wrong. He declared his love for her, and asked Tina to be his partner on his life’s journey.

Tina was in complete shock! She immediately said yes, and gave Dave a hug and a kiss. Within a week, she scheduled their consultation with Alce Events and booked their 9/10/11 wedding date. Tina and Dave were happy to find a wedding planner to help them plan an affordable wedding and understood their wedding day vision. The couple took advantage of our $5,000 complete wedding day reception. The package includes the ceremony and reception venue (at the same location), red carpet entrance for your guests, centerpieces for guest tables, DJ, dance floor, up lights, linen and dinner for up to 75 guests.

I cannot believe that it’s been almost three months since we partnered with Tina and Dave to create their fabulous wedding day. Below are some more pictures of their engagement. Enjoy!

Some of Orlando’s finest vendors were present at Get Married’s Eat Love Play event held at Heaven Event Center in Orlando, FL. The Eat Love Play event was hosted by April Dorsey from The D-Tales, cake was provided by Party Flavors, the custom dance floor by Letz Dance On It, DJ and Entertainment by Al Dee Productions and their ice sculpture by Ice Pro.

The D-Tales and this fabulous event will be featured in Get Married’s next issue. Additional vendors that helped make this event possible were Unique Option for providing their chic, comfortable event furniture, photography by Kristen Weaver, Sweet Maralyn’s Chocolates for her s’more buffet, Creations Catering and Events, Orlando Wedding and Event Rentals, the pink and orange specialty cocktail drinks by Orlando Private Bartending. Floral design was provided by Raining Roses

DANCING WEDDING SONGS

Vivo Orgulloso – Victor Manuel … a touching song to dedicate to your parents, and also great for a father and daughter or a mother and son dance. It’s sure to bring tears to your parents’ eyes and truly touch your guests.

Vida – Marc Anthony … One of the sweetest songs in 2010. Vivo truly encompasses a parent’s emotion and love for their child. A great song for a father and daughter or a mother and son wedding dance.

Lucky – Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat … If you feel lucky to marry your best friend, this song is perfect and romantic. One of my clients selected this song for their first dance for their September wedding, and it was a hit (no pun intended :)).

We always enjoy volunteering and hosting events for BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation, an Orlando, Florida non profit organization whose programs are geared for children and families battling cancer, and other blood related diseases.

Terri Jones, the founder of BASE Camp, Jackie Ellis the Executive Director and Cindy Crespo-Whitaker, the Programs Director work tirelessly every day to provide children at Arnold Palmer and Florida Hospitals daily lunches, overnight camps, milestone parties when each child completes chemotherapy and yearly proms for both children and teenagers. 

Thank you to the NBA’s Orlando Magic, Commissioner Bill Segal, Bonkerz Comedy Club, Keller Williams Advantage Group, Greater Orlando Business Network, Spice World, Ameriprise Financial, 101.1 WJRR and Power 95.3 for sponsoring the Celebrity Waiter’s Dinner 2010, and raising over $11,000 to help continue to fund the BASE Camp program.

The s’more candy buffet was provided by Chef Lo from Millenia Catering at the Science of Events by AFR. This unique twist on the traditional candy buffet allowed guests to interact and mingle as they prepared their custom s’mores. The candy station was manned by one of Millenia Catering’s staff members to ensure the guests’ safety and continued fun. The Science of Events was a networking event for Orlando’s Wedding and Event Professionals held at the Orlando Science Center.
